Population Pyramid

This is the population pyramid I created on Microsoft Excel representing the 2015 population of Jacksonville, Florida.

As can be seen from the chart, Jacksonville has a higher population of individuals between the ages of 20 and 30. This may be attributed to the large military presence at the cities two navy bases as well as multiple institutions of higher education. My business model would cater toward these individuals.

I believe a good business to fit this model would be a sports bar marketed toward college students. Given the presence of an NFL team in Jacksonville as well as several minor league teams and numerous professional teams in surrounding cities, I feel as though this type of establishment would demonstrate success. A good site for the business would be just off of campus at the Florida State University at Jacksonville. This location would obviously draw the students who attend the university, but also those attending sporting events as the sports complexes are all within walking distance of the university. This location would also be only a 15 minute drive from the navy base. Additionally, because the venue is in walking distance of all major attractions, this location will likely contribute to less instances of drunken driving, which would approve the reputation of the business.
